Ka'aguy Poty Flor da Mata: Guarani Culture and Agroforestry as a Climate Struggle

For the Guarani people, the connection with the forest is inseparable from their culture and way of life. In the Rio Silveiras indigenous village, this ancestral wisdom translates into a contemporary struggle. Led by Adolfo Timótio Werá Mirim, the Guarani Ka'aguy Poty Flor da Mata Collective works to rescue and strengthen traditional planting and food sovereignty, proving that preserving culture is one of the most effective ways to protect the environment and face climate change.

The collective, which has 20 members and benefits around 900 people in the village, is dedicated to revitalizing indigenous agroforestry spaces.
