about the mechanism

This initiative seeks to leverage the efforts of Indigenous peoples, traditional communities, and workers across Brazil in the pursuit of climate justice and a just transition that meaningfully includes their voices and solutions towards well-being and a fair and inclusive low-carbon economy. In particular, it focuses on addressing and mitigating the impacts of climate emergencies. For the first time, two special initiatives of the Brazil Fund – Raízes – the Climate Justice Fund for Indigenous Peoples and Traditional Communities and Labora – the Fund to Support Decent Work – are joining forces in this call for proposals to boost the efforts of Indigenous peoples, traditional communities, and workers across Brazil in the pursuit of climate justice and a just transition that meaningfully includes their voices and solutions towards well-being and a fair and inclusive low-carbon economy.
